We know this much for sure: the 2013 Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida will be a jewelry designer and maker, a distributor and marketer of Stevia products; a large auto repair shop or an industrial sized turbine maintenance company.
The Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University, which will present the winner of the 2013 Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida award at a special banquet on May 22, announced the finalists April 12.

- Ben Fleischer, owner of Pyure Brands, Naples, FL.
- Pamela Oakes, owner of Pam’s Motor City Automotive, Ft. Myers, FL.?
- David Branton, owner of Turbine Generator Maintenance, Inc., Cape Coral, FL.Fleischer was nominated for the award in 2012. Oakes is the first female business owner to be nominated for the award.
The 2012 Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida was chocolatier Norman Love of Norman Love Confections.
Love joins the panel of judges for the 2013 award, which also includes Tim Cartwright, Managing Director of 5th Avenue Advisors and Chairman of the Tamiami Angel Fund; Stefan Bothe, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Flexiinternational Software, Inc.; Colleen Kvetko, President and CEO of Shamrock Bank of Florida; and Phil Borchmann, Editor of Gulfshore Business Magazine.
