Wait...what? Yet MORE social platforms? Yes...but very narrowly defined.

Just when you thought the social media world couldn't get any more fragmented and, well, bizarre, along comes Microsoft jimping right into the social space with So.cl

With what? You read that correctly. It's not a typo. Microsoft has apparently quietly launched its own social platform called...not making this up...So.cl. (That's Microsoft's way of spelling, "social," you see: So.cl. Makes perfect sense...in Redmond, anyway.)

I know what you're saying to yourself, "But Microsoft doesn't know anything about the Internets."

Well, that may or may not be true but they figure they can really get time on the social media front porch of students because that's who So.cl is aiming for: students.

"So.cl is an experimental research project focused on the future of social experiences and learning, especially among younger people," said a Microsoft spokeperson to CNET

On another front, the fashion front...

Maybe you're already bored with Pinterest. Oscar de la Renta is, apparently.

Seems the ol' Oscar house is ready to launch big time into a Pinterest-like socal platform, The Fancy

(I swear, you just can't make up this stuff.)

The Fancy is, according to ShinnyShinny.tv and Mashable, much more focused on e-commerce straight-out (no pun) than is Pinterest.

Wake me up and let me know how all this shakes out.
